Stan reported the loss to police in Glenview, Illinois, but feels like there's a lack of progress with the case.

“I just think they don’t understand it and nobody is willing to stick their neck out,” [Yahoo]

His concerns highlight a much larger issue: cryptocurrency fraud is growing rapidly and many local law enforcement agencies are still catching up when it comes to investigating the highly technical crimes!

According to other sources, he shared his story to not only educate other investors, but to bring attention to the challenges police face when dealing with crypto-related cases.  A former FBI agent, Kyle Armstrong, said Stan's frustration isn't uncommon.
