Mystery Trucker Pulls Off Incredible Rescue on Illinois Interstate
An Unexpected Hero: Everyday People Doing Extraordinary Things
You just never know when you'll be called on to become a hero, and I don't mean that in, like, "Marvel is casting for their next movie" kind of hero.

This story here does have a hero, even if they chose to remain nameless.

An unidentified semi driver is getting the hero treatment after stopping a wrong-way driver on Interstate 70 in Illinois.
The Illinois State Police say the van traveled three miles in the wrong direction, with several near misses. Apparently, the driver was believed to be suffering from a medical issue, according to witnesses Cammi and Greg Peirce. The couple turned their vehicle around to try to stop the van.

The Mystery Trucker: Vanishing After a Life-Saving Rescue
A mystery truck driver also got in on the action. He pulled over, jumped out, and ran alongside the still-moving van before managing to open the driver’s door and help bring the vehicle to a stop.
Like a superhero behind the wheel of a semi, the trucker didn’t hang around to take any credit. Before Pierce or anyone else could congratulate and thank him, he was gone.
That van had already driven plenty of miles in the wrong direction; the trucker got there at the right time and potentially saved lives.
