If there's one thing we can all agree on, billboards are distracting sometimes - especially the most bizarre ones that we have the urge to snap a photo of while driving.

I was driving along a popular street in my town and noticed there have been a lot of new billboards popping up around the city lately.  Some have inspiring messages, majority are advertising fast food joints, and quite a handful are down right confusing.

This one is pretty well known in my area and advertises Culver's at the next light.  It is kinda tucked away behind a CVS and gas station, so this sign is pretty helpful to out-of-towners looking for food.

Other than roadside advertising, do billboards really look that pretty in cities that don't have a ton of tourist attractions?

According to Maine, Vermont, Alaska and Hawaii, billboards are NOT welcome in their states - BANNED!  They ruin the uniqueness and scenic beauty of their cities.

Do you think Illinois would benefit from banning billboards like these 4 states?

Hear me out.  You've probably seen at least one billboard that has the message, "Save a life.  Don't text and drive." written all over it.  To be honest, the billboard ALSO takes my eyes away from the road... counter effective at its finest.

On top of that, I'd rather take in the views of miles and miles of corn fields over signs  that are impossible to read because I'm driving too fast (lol).

Finally, do you ever wonder who actually takes a pitstop when the billboard says, "ADULT TOY STORE, NEXT EXIT."?  I want to know how effective that sign really is!!!

If you asked me, I think I could live without billboards if they were banned.  I rarely look at them in passing and don't think I've ever been persuaded by a roadside advertisement in my life.  What about you?
