These Are The Most Expensive Restaurants In Iowa, Illinois, And Wisconsin
There's a pricey night out and then there's these 3 places.
We've all had, at some point, the moment of cringe when we get the bill after a date or night out. Lovefood did the number crunching and found the most expensive restaurants in every state for this year.
They based their picks on the priciest menus (not just one specifically expensive entree). The 3 picks for Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, all run the food genre gamut so here they are.
Iowa
That is the Royal Surf & Turf plate from Splash Seafood Bar & Grill in Des Moines. It will run you $179. Splash's oyster bar can bring in $200 (with caviar) and also has shellfish platters that are $190. Seafood is generally pricey anyway. At Splash, lobster will run you $98 and Alaskan King Crab is $100.
Illinois
To be fair, Alinea Chicago has 3 Michelin stars, so they have the accolades to back up the prices. They are in the Lincoln Park area of the city and their food looks like artwork. If you choose to go the route of a multi-course meal, that could cost you $500. They're listed on Facebook as a "Molecular Gastronomy Restaurant". I'm not quite sure what that means, but the food looks good.
Wisconsin
Milwaukee is home to Carnevor, which is a high-end steakhouse. The priciest steak is Japanese wagyu filet mignon, at $168. The restaurant offers fancy toppings like king crab or foie gras. They also have a shareable-size dry-age ribeye that's $130.
