It's COOKIE TIME!

One of the only good things about January in Iowa is the start of Girl Scout Cookie season. The 2024 season officially kicked off this past Friday (January 12th), which means that cookie-lovers can now place their orders both online and in-person. Each box costs $6. Here is the full line-up of cookies in Eastern Iowa this year:

  • Thin Mints
  • Samoas
  • Tagalongs
  • Do-si-dos
  • Trefoils
  • Lemon-Ups
  • S'mores
  • Adventurefuls
  • Toffee-Tastic (gluten free)

The final day for initial orders is Sunday, January 28th, but just a few weeks later, cookie booths will begin! Be on the lookout for local Girl Scouts when you're out and about starting Friday, February 16th. The 2024 cookie season will come to an end on Sunday, March 17th.

According to the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois website, the Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world! The site reads:

"When you buy Girl Scout cookies you are creating opportunities for Girl Scouts to learn, grow, and thrive. From learning how to interact with customers to creating budgets and taking orders, the Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches Girl Scouts invaluable skills that they’ll need to succeed throughout their lives."

Another cool thing about the Girl Scout Cookie Program is that proceeds stay local, so be sure to find an Eastern Iowa Girl Scout to place your order with! If you don't know any personally, you'll be able to find local both digital and in-person cookie booths as the season gets underway HERE.
