Valentine’s Day Card Drive for Long-term Care Facility Residents is Illinois

Valentine's Day is a time for celebrating love and affection, and it's important to remember that this holiday isn't just for romantic couples. State Representative Tony McCombie, who represents the 89th District in Savanna, Illinois, is encouraging her constituents to spread some love to residents of long-term care facilities by creating and sending Valentine's Day cards.

Rep. McCombie understands that the pandemic has been difficult for many, particularly those living in long-term care facilities who have been isolated from friends and family. She believes that small acts of kindness can have a big impact and that sending Valentine's Day cards to seniors can help lift their spirits and make them feel special.

Rep. McCombie is inviting community members, church groups, schools, and residents to participate in the Card Drive. Participants can drop off Valentine's Day cards or mail them to her district office in Savanna. Once the cards are collected, they will be delivered to residents of long-term care facilities in communities in Northwest Illinois. The deadline for submitting cards is Tuesday, February 7.
