Massive Sports Complex Coming to Springfield, Illinois in 2025

Big things are happening for sports in Springfield, Illinois in 2025. Ground has been broken for a massive sports complex that will include many fields and indoor facilities, too and there's video to prove it.

Springfield Clinic recently shared video of what will become Scheels Sports Park at Legacy Pointe. This is the concept video they shared from the developer showing what will be an epic facility with plans to be complete by 2025.

There will be 8 different sports fields and a 190,000 square foot indoor complex, too.

The groundbreaking to mark the start of construction happened in late November as machinery is already at work on the fields.

The developers Sports Facilities website listed all that this Springfield, Illinois destination will include:

• Five 90′ multi-use diamonds with corner infields
• Two double youth multi-purpose fields
• Stadium with 90’ diamond or full-size soccer field
• 190,000 square foot indoor sports dome
• Turf & sport courts
• Indoor Performance & Fitness Area
• Hitting center
• Food truck bar & pavilion

In total, the cost is estimated to be $42 million dollars to make this sports complex a reality.
