I will admit this is a very odd topic to bring up right after a massive heat wave, but it's not my fault. Blame Farmer's Almanac who claims they can predict the first Fall frost for every place in Illinois. I'm limiting them to just 20 major places.

Farmer's Almanac has all kinds of formulas for how and why they predict things. Despite my estimate that they're just guessing, that's apparently not correct as they use history and lots of smart people stuff to determine when the weather will get cold enough to frost things over.

Here's what they predict for 20 major Illinois places.

I was really surprised to see Chicago of all places having one of the latest first frost dates. Considering that there are few places further north in Illinois than Chicago, it just doesn't make sense to me, but it's been said before that I'm rarely the smartest person in the room. Farmer's Almanac, on the other hand, is smart and uses science.
