The more things change, the more things stay the same. That's actually not true of the Missouri firearms deer season as there are numerous changes to know about before heading out into the backcountry.
Missouri's November firearms deer season begins Saturday morning, November 11, 2023. The Missouri Department of Conservation says that this years there's "a new firearms early antlerless portion, a new firearms CWD portion, and changes to firearms antlerless permit numbers in most counties".
The new early antlerless portion was October 6 through October 8 which was an attempt to "help increase antlerless deer harvest".
The new CWD portion November 22 through November 26 will now not require CWD testing in the management zones.
The Missouri Department of Conservation has also "increased the number of firearms antlerless permits hunters can fill in most counties".
In regards to antlerless permit numbers, the Missouri Department of Conservation says "Qualifying resident landowners may each receive two resident landowner firearms antlerless deer hunting permits in Reynolds County".
