See the Hilarious Word Missourians Search for More Than Any Other
I've confessed before that I was born and raised in Missouri, so I'm not judging, but the word my home state searches for online is both hilarious and a real head-scratcher.
Dictionary.com has collected data on what people in each state search for the most and you would think they'd know since they are supposed to be a dictionary. Duh. Missouri's choice is...peculiar.
What is the word Missourians search for more than any other?
It's true that Missourians do searches for "lookup" more than any other which Dictionary defines as "an act or instance of looking something up, as information in a reference book or an online database." (*facepalm*)
This reminds me of when I first built a computer for my dad and set him up online. He was terrified that people were going to send him dirty pictures. I explained that just because he was online did not necessarily mean people were going to start sending him dirty pictures. He was a Missouri postal worker for over 30 years and didn't know anything about the internet. Ironically enough, it was the internet which made his job kind of obsolete.
My point is you really can't fault Missourians for doing a search about how to do a search. That might be the most Missouri thing I've ever heard of.
