Weird Missouri Law Makes it Illegal for 4 Women to Do This

I do not tell my wife what to do as that would not end well. However, there is a weird Missouri law that does tell women what to do and I'm pretty sure that most of the females I know in the state would not be pleased.

I will be the first to admit that my birth state of Missouri has some odd laws including the one that forbids anyone in the state from driving around with a bear in the front seat. This is one that I had not heard of that the Simon Law Firm shared.

Listen up Missouri ladies, this is important

Four (or more) women may not live in a house or apartment together. The Simon Law Firm specifies that "any dwelling that houses four or more unrelated females is considered a brothel". Awkward.

Is this law still enforced? The Missouri brothel law created a panic on Reddit with many questioning whether this would be enforced in the Saint Louis area. It also led to the question if this would make college sororities illegal. Snopes debunked that one.

One reason this archaic law in Missouri is causing a stir again is due to the sometimes astronomical costs of housing in some parts of the state. It's necessary in many cases to find friends who are willing to help split that cost up. While I'm no lawyer, I cannot imagine that any local Missouri law enforcement agency would be knocking on doors to enforce this unless there are reports of real "ladies of the evening" acts happening.
