Black bears seem to be everywhere in Missouri right now. After a long winter of hibernation and spring of finding food sources, now they're visiting even the smaller parts of the state like Nixa, Missouri where neighborhoods have spotted one of these curious creatures.

I saw this short video shared by KY3 out of Springfield, Missouri. It's about the latest bear sighting, this time in Nixa, Missouri which isn't all that tiny. It's population is over 20,000 near Springfield.

If you're familiar with Nixa, you know it's due south of Springfield and has bear-friendly wooded habitats on several sides of the city as this map reveals.

Missouri Department of Conservation has told us that "black bears are becoming more common and widespread" and they weren't kidding. It was just a day or two ago when another Missouri man shared video of a black bear in his backyard. It's actually getting to the point where you feel left out if you HAVEN'T seen a black bear in your Missouri yard.

If you know you live near where the bears are in Missouri, it's advised that you don't put out bird feeders or any other food source that might make your place appear bear-friendly. That likely wouldn't end well for you and definitely not the bear.
