It used to contain the worst of the worst and was the site of Illinois' execution of a serial killer 15 years ago. Now, it's sat abandoned for 13 years, but you can see inside thanks to a new adventure shared by an urban explorer.

I will hand it to obsoleteVoids on YouTube. She finds some interesting places in Illinois to investigate. This new video she just dropped a few days ago reveals what remains of the Tamms Correctional Center in Illinois. She even found the old execution chamber inside the facility. This place has been empty since 2013.

Wikipedia has some crazy history on this Illinois prison. It says the land for the prison was purchased from soybean farmers in the 1990's. Confirmed reports say that the prisoners here were treated brutally. It was officially closed after much debate on January 4, 2013.

I will also echo the disclaimer that she shared in the description of her video saying she discouraged "trespassing, vandalism, or unsafe behavior of any kind. Abandoned properties may be unstable, dangerous, or legally protected. Viewers are advised to follow all local laws and avoid attempting any activity shown in this video".

WARNING: Under no circumstances should you enter this property. By doing so you risk bodily harm and/or prosecution for trespassing on private property.
