2 Illinois Spots Make Coolest U.S. Neighborhoods List

Trendy "Coolest" Neighborhood in Illinois
Every time I visit Chicago, I’m amazed by the architecture and the variety of building styles. Whether it's a towering skyscraper or a charming home, the city always gives me chills. Logan Square is quickly becoming one of those neighborhoods that might get overshadowed by trendier spots, but residents don’t seem to mind. They like having the charm all to themselves. The area is rich with historic gravestones (if that’s your thing), restaurants, including a well-known “hipster” donut shop, and is famous for its market street fairs, pop-up art shows, and the iconic Logan Theatre.
Wicker Park also made the “cool” list, and for good reason. It’s one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. With tons of restaurants, vinyl stores (my favorite to visit), and vintage shops, you never know what treasures you’ll find when you stop by Wicker Park. The homes are absolutely gorgeous, too. Many date back to the 19th century, and strolling the neighborhood streets is a perfect way to take in all the historic charm.

So, if you ever find yourself with some extra time on your next visit to Chicago, consider exploring these two cool neighborhoods—you never know what you’ll discover in their vintage shops.
