I'm always on the lookout for a good Bloody Mary and good BBQ, when you can find a place with both of those, that's a win.

I've had BBQ down South and in many areas of the United States, but one thing I've learned is you don't have to travel far from the Twin Ports to find some good eats.

This weekend my wife said she wanted to go for a motorcycle ride to get lunch and I told her to pick the place, within a few minutes she sent me the link to Hog Wild BBQ and Smokehouse in Solon Springs, WI.

I'd been meaning to make it there, so we fired up the hogs and hit the road.  Only about a thirty-minute ride from Superior, it isn't that far, but was it worth the trip?

We pulled in on the bikes and found there was designated paved parking for motorcycle riders, so that was a win right out of the gate.  Before finding a seat, we walked to the bar and I recognized the Bloody Mary glasses, they are just like the ones from a Superior establishment.  I then remembered, at Hog Wild they have the original Bloody recipe from years ago in the area, so I ordered one.

Sure enough, it tasted like it should and had plenty of fixings including a piece of bacon and a cheese stick.  It was delicious and one of those Bloodies that you could do two of and feel full.

Despite the one, we still ordered food and split the 4-meat platter.  It came with brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and ribs.  All were delicious and there was enough food on that platter for two, and also included beans, cornbread, and mac & cheese.  There was also an assortment of sauces to try including one best described as an Alabama White Sauce, which gets two thumbs up from this guy.

For the price point and generous portions, it's definitely worth the stop if you're looking for a good Bloody and good BBQ near the Twin Ports.  They also have great indoor and outdoor dining options to enjoy.
