Illinois Town Is Going Green With Labor Day Weekend Festival
An Illinois town has proven that it doesn't have to be Saint Patrick's Day to celebrate Irish heritage.
Celebrating Irish Days In Long Grove, Illinois
My mom's side of the family is Irish and my relatives know how to have a good time and party. Just think about it, Saint Patrick's Day is definitely a fun holiday. Unfortunately, it's only one day and comes only once a year.

Why is that? I think an Irish celebration could happen more often and maybe even for a whole weekend. There would be plenty of fun things to do and experience. Of course, you need extra time to sample the beer and food.
The city of Long Grove, Illinois gets it. That's why they're hosting Irish Days over Labor Day Weekend, which is from August 31st through September 2nd. Here's a nice bonus, admission and parking are free. You don't get that very many places.
The festival features Irish music, culture, food and more. Don't worry there's fun for the whole family. Of course, there's a U2 tribute headlining the mainstage one of the nights. I've seen them before and they're good.
There are plenty of other activities to check out too including a dog contest, men's best legs in a kilt contest, food vendors with Irish-inspired menus, DJ Dogs will handle food for the kids, Irish dance groups, and an Irish pipe band. There will even be a Sunday mass.
