Criminals In Illinois Are Getting Braver

Unless you're living off the grid, it's hard to avoid the bad news because you can see it everywhere. Plus, it's happening more often. I still find myself in shock over what people will try to pull off no matter how outrageous of an idea.

Robbery Jewelry Stores Are High Tech Crimes

I don't know if it's the way they are portrayed in movies but ripping off an expensive business like a jewelry store would seem rather difficult. Think of a scene out of one of the "Ocean 11" movies. Picture high security with cameras, lasers, alarms, guards, and so much more. It would take some serious criminal technical knowledge to pull off a job like that. Or maybe not.

Illinois Thief Uses Primitive Method To Break Into Jewelry Store

I guess this thief in Illinois is old school. He doesn't quite have the criminal training needed for a high-tech robbery like a jewelry store. Instead of moving on to something easier, he pulled it off the only way he knew how. That's with brute force.

According to patch.com,

The American Eagle Jewelry Store in Elmhurst was robbed. The thief set off an alarm. When the police arrived, the front glass door was smashed. The surveillance camera caught the suspect on video. He was wearing black and armed with a hammer. Yes, in this high-tech world, the suspect used a hammer to bust into the store. No word if he was wearing nylons over his head to hide his face. So far he's gotten away with it. I'm sure the cops will eventually catch up with him. I'm waiting for a picture of the hammer to be released.
