Secret underground clubs are something I thought only existed in TV shows or movies. I didn't think they were actually real. The kind of place where you need a special password or knock to be let in the door.

Once you get in, it's this magical land that only the lucky ones can enter. There would be superstar bands and comedians performing unique shows in from of just a handful of people. I've never heard of anyone actually going to one.
I guess they are usually kept secret and underground so I was never in the elite group that had the passwords to get in. Here's the thing about secrets. No one can keep them forever. The information is just too good and they must share it.
There's a secret underground comedy club that was hosting some great shows. Of course, people had such a great time they started telling friends about it. Next thing you know, lots of people know about it. In a case like this, that isn't a good thing.
A social media page found out about the Humboldt Jungle and decided to do a story about the place. They even posted a video of the club that went viral. The info made its way to Chicago's city hall and they immediately shut down the place for code violations.
Now, the club owners and facing huge fines and legal fees. They've started a GoFundMe page but their future is going to be an uphill battle. It sucks that a special place like this one gets closed but unfortunately people can't keep a secret.
