The Illinois list of banned animals used in traveling acts is expanding.

I realize animals are not always treated well when they are used for things like the circus.

That really sucks because I have some great memories of going to see the circus each year with my parents. It was something I really looked forward to each year.

The future is in an all human based show. Don't get me wrong, there are some very talented people in those performances but I will miss the animals.

According to week.com,

"A bipartisan group of state legislators wants to expand the list of wild animals banned from traveling animal acts."

"Currently, Illinois law only bars the usage of elephants in the acts. The law would add 14 other animals to the list, including bears, cougars, giraffes, non-human primates, tigers, and zebras."

"Senate Bill 154 would make using these animals in a traveling act for performances a Class A misdemeanor. If passed, the law would take effect July 1."

Do you agree with the ban?
