On January 1st, the sales of snack foods in Illinois will be going up.

It only seems logical. On January 1st, 2020, recreational marijuana becomes legal in Illinois. Of course, using cannabis brings on the "munchies." The more people getting "high" means an increase of "stoned" individuals looking for something to eat.

I know what you're thinking, "Duh, tell me something I do know." Okay, so how much will it actually go up?

According to nypost.com,

"The candy and snack growth rate showed that candy sales grew by 2 percent in states with legal weed compared to 1.3 percent in states where it remained illegal. Snack sales grew 7.2 percent in states where pot has been legalized, compared to 6 percent in non-stoner states."

I'm thinking if you want to make some money off the new pot laws, get into the food business.
