At many bars, restaurants, and other establishments across Illinois, it's not uncommon to see someone sit down at a video gaming machine, pop in a few bills, and waste some time trying to win some cash. Beginning tonight at 9 p.m. it will all change.

The Illinois Gaming Board has ordered that all video gaming establishments suspend video gaming thru the end of the month. The concern is obviously related to fears over  the Coronavirus.

The IGB will continue to work with state officials and monitor updates to determine if the suspension will continue after the end of the month.

With how quickly new cases are popping up and the first case hitting Winnebago County over the weekend, it's probably for the best that more things are being suspended to try and halt the spread of it. I know nobody wants to just stay in the house and do nothing while we deal with this, but social distancing is currently the best way to avoid coming in contact with it.
