Raid The Fridge is a new show on Food Network with its first season currently airing weekly.

How The Show Works

Four contestants each chose a refrigerator that will prove their culinary skills but they don't get to look inside before making their selection. They only have what's on the outside to decide if it is the fridge for them. This is based on magnets, photos, art, and recipes hanging on the fridge door.

The refrigerators are an exact replica of a refrigerator someone in the United States. The resemblance is exact, down to what is inside, outside, and on top.

But looks can be deceiving, so there is always an element of surprise - sometimes a refrigerator that appears to belong to an avid home cook is filled with takeout, while a crayon art decorated fridge seemingly owned by a family with toddlers could contain high-end gourmet items.

The show has three rounds (challenges) for the contestants to cook/bake their way to $10,000, each round has a new choice of refrigerators. One contestant is cut by the judges in the first and second rounds, leaving a head-to-head challenge for the remaining pair.

Over the course of three rounds, each with a new cooking challenge and a whole new batch of fridges to raid, chefs must impress judges Jordan Andino and Jamika Pessoa with dishes worthy of the grand prize — a fridge full of cash.

Season 1, Episode 5: Burgers and Birthday Parties

In this episode of Raid The Fridge, which debuted last month, the first selection of refrigerators included one from a "fitness fanatic", "empty nester", "firefighter", and a "junk food foodie."

Sean Smith, of Byron, Illinois, gets the bragging rights about the "junk food" fridge."

Though someone else landed the label of "firefighter fridge", Sean is a member of the Leaf River Fire Protection District.

When Sean's fridge is selected by one of the contestants, Carla, he says he's a big fan of junk food and fried food. Chef Carla said she was up for the challenge for this "outside the box" fridge.

Carla was definitely served a challenge in round one, making a burger. How did she do?
