Easter is right around the corner, so it would make sense someone would figure out our favorite jelly beans.

You can't have Easter without a handful of jelly beans, right? National Jelly Bean Day is also on April 22nd, so the following report serves a dual purpose.

Candystore.com tried to figure out the favorite jelly beans in America and then blew them out state-by-state. Here's how they figured it out:

Using the CandyStore.com jelly bean sales data from the last 10 years and SurveyMonkey and Facebook polls of over 12,000 candy customers and followers, we ranked the most loved jelly bean flavors in all 50 states and the 32 most popular flavors nationally. We weighted sales and survey data at 90/10 respectively, and favored recent sales data over older data. Here are our results.

The top jelly bean flavor in America is buttered popcorn. I mean, I like that flavor, but I really didn't think anyone else did. So to see buttered popcorn flavored jelly beans as America's top pick over everything else is kind of a surprise.

In Illinois, buttered popcorn isn't our favorite jelly bean. Actually, the most popular pick are those that are chocolate flavored. Chocolate-flavored jelly beans? Gross.

Even crazier, Illinoisans are the only ones that pick chocolate-flavored jelly beans as their favorite.

Wisconsin residents say watermelon jelly beans are their fave. I can get behind that a bit more than chocolate.
