Did this Illinois driver mean to fit into this small space or was it just an accident?

Parking In Chicago Is A Miserable Experience

I remember when I was learning to drive. I had a difficult time parallel parking. My dad told me to work on it because if I wanted to go into cities like Chicago I was definitely going to need that skill. Nowadays, I will put my ability up against anyone. It really helped when for years I drove a 1999 Toyota Corolla. I could fit the car into just about any tight space. I impressed many a friend when they doubted me.

Trying to park in Chicago is ridiculous. I always want to try and avoid parking in a paid lot or garage because it's so darn expensive. At the same time, I don't want to waste time driving around and looking for a space. You have to be really careful too, so your car doesn't get towed. That's when that parallel parking skill comes in very handy.

There is also another big problem with parking in Chicago. If you leave your car on the street, there's a good chance it's going to end up with damage from someone crashing into it. Unless they have a special spot to park, my friends that live in the city either have a junker or no vehicle at all.
