If You Love Outdoors Check Out Wisconsin’s Free Fishing Weekend
This week is "Free Fishing Weekend in Wisconsin if you love the outdoors.
My Experience Fishing And In The Outdoors
I will admit, I do not have a lot of experience in the outdoors. I can count the number of times I have been camping on one hand. Also, I have not had many opportunities to do some real fishing. Most of my experience was with a pocket fisherman at the pond across the street from where I grew up.
I did get to go on an awesome boat trip on Lake Michigan a few years ago. I was not lucky enough to catch a fish but that was okay. It was still a blast. I understand why people really enjoy it. I did learn something important about fishing that day. It is not free. I never realized you needed to purchase a license to do it.
Getting A Fishing License
No matter if you are going for a day or several, you need to get yourself a fishing license. Of course, there is a fee depending on where you are or what you are doing. Some places do offer free days earlier in the season. There is a chance coming up this weekend in Wisconsin.
Free Fishing Weekend In Wisconsin
Coming up this week, the state of Wisconsin is offering a "Free Fishing Weekend." It is on January 15th and 16th.
"Wisconsin is home to 49 state parks, 15 state forests, 44 state trails, 84,000 miles of rivers and streams, roughly 15,000 lakes and so much more."
"On Free Fishing Weekend, you can cast a line without having a fishing license, trout stamp, or salmon stamp."
