Thieves are attempting to take advantage of the popular 'Ice Bucket Challenge' by stealing your personal information.

Donations are in abundance for the ALS Association, yet again as we see with all good things, scammers are taking advantage of the Ice Bucket Challenges.

According to WIFR, an email has been sent to the masses promising a fantastic video of an Ice Bucket Challenge. When you click on the link to bring you to the video, scammers are really sending you spyware or a virus. This link will instantly install malware on the computer. This could get access to your personal information including credit card information.

Sadly, this isn't the first time scammers have tried to take advantage of a situation. It has also happened when Robin Williams had died.

To be safe, never open an email or link from someone you do not know. Delete it immediately.
