Microchipping our pets is incredibly important. Microchips often play a key factor in reuniting pets with their families when they get loose.

It's a proven fact that there would be far less pets in our local animal shelters if all pets were micropchipped, and this is why Rockford's C.A.R.E. for PETS will be hosting a microchip clinic at Kegel's Bicycle Store on Charles St. in Rockford on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

Here's what you need to know before you go:

  • The C.A.R.E for PETS Microchip Clinic will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 at Kegel's Bicycle Store at 2605 Charles St.
  • The general public can get their pet microchipped and registered for $20, the services are free for U.S. Veterans who live in Winnebago County.
  • The Guitars for Vets organization will be there with information, and they will be collecting donated guitars if you've got one you're no longer using and want to give it a new life.
