I can not imagine what it must be like to have a child go missing. I myself am not a parent, but I am an Aunt to many amazing nieces and nephews. The heart shattering event is something no family should have to go through, but thousands do each year.

In the recent months, I have noticed that on my iPhone, I have received Amber Alerts. Although some of my friends and family have expressed that they have not received them as I did. That is all about to change.

Fantastic news coming from Facebook today, as they are working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to send alerts to Facebook users' mobile phones if they are in an area of search for said missing child. This will hopefully bring the missing child safely home to those who love them in a quicker time.

It's very common to scroll through your Facebook news feed and see articles being shared by friends and family about a missing child in their area. This has helped find missing children based on the raised awareness.

On Facebook, 1011Now.com reports that alerts will include vital information, including the missing child's photo. Again, this information will be brought to those in the search area of the child.
