What's scarier than investigating an abandoned place? Answer: realizing that you're not alone. That's exactly what happened to some urban explorers who recently checked out what remains of an abandoned elementary school in Illinois.

As is their practice, Decaying Midwest investigated another abandoned Illinois place, but they didn't divulge the exact location to discourage vandals from further damaging the place. Here's what they did reveal about one of their most recent investigations:

On this episode...explored an abandoned elementary school with someone watching us... Not sure the history on this place but it was definitely an elementary school with lots of gym equipment and computers left inside.

It doesn't take long before they hear noises that aren't their own.

I understand why many useless items are left behind when schools/organizations vacate a facility. However, it seems that someone could have made use of at least some of this gym equipment.

I know that CRT computer monitors are very much a thing of ancient history now, but you'd think these would need to be recycled or at least safely disposed of.

It would seem this elementary school located somewhere in Illinois is more than likely earmarked for demolition. In its current state, it's useless and truly a danger to any kids that might wonder in.
