Darwin Awards

As an avid reader of my each and every word, I'm sure you are aware of the moronic warning labels that I spotlighted in my previous blog. All kinds of warning for all kids of stupid. Nature has a way of weeding out the idiots. At least, it used to.

It got me thinking of a phrase that everyone knows. Darwin Awards. Charles Darwin is, of course, the scientist who put together the theory of evolution. He made it easy to understand how living things evolve and adapt in order to survive, either in the short term or long term.

The Darwin Awards is a gathering of stories about death or injury. These deaths and injuries are almost always preventable with just a small amount of common sense. Common sense is not as abundant as it once was.

Whether it's making a bet with a friend that involves laying on train tracks.

Or the scooter-bound man who angrily rams the elevator doors after they closed as he approached.

Mother Nature knows what she's doing.
