Construction Has Begun on a New Chick-fil-A in Machesney Park
We learned in February that a brand new Chick-fil-A was coming to Machesney Park. It's now looking like it may open sooner than expected.
On Friday (6/18/21), the Village of Machesney Park announced that construction has now begun on a second area Chick-fil-A location. When the project was announced in February, the belief was that it would happen sometime in the next twenty-four months.
Good News Chick-fil-A fans
If construction has already begun, I'd say it will be open way before that 2-year timeline.
Where's the NEW Chick-fil-A being built?
The restaurant is being built on the southeast corner of Alpine and Rt. 173/West Lane Road.
Chick-fil-A opened their first restaurant in Rockford in January 2014, at 280 N Perryville Road. It sure would be nice if this new location would take away some of that awful drive-thru traffic at the location in Rockford.
The new location will be on the southeast corner of Alpine and West Lane Rd (Highway 173).
The construction announcement was delivered via a Facebook post from, Destination Machesney. According to their page, Destination Machesney is a social media campaign that highlights the attractions, special offers, and promotions provided by Machesney Park businesses.
