One Man’s Mission To Run All Of Chicago’s Streets
Everyone needs a hobby and also a way to stay healthy; if you can combine the two, then all the better, and this man in Illinois has taken it to the next level.
Illinois Man Will Reach His Goal Of Running On Every Block In Chicago
I think some people would be surprised that I have a healthy hobby. It's walking. I go two miles every weekday. Not only is it good for me physically, but it's also great for me mentally. I just throw on my headphones, crank up the tunes, and good. It really helps to clear my brain. I love walking outside, but I'm a fair-weather walker, so on cold days I'll be on the track at the Y. I've had friends suggest that I jog or run, but it bangs up my body too much.

According to the Chicago Suntimes...
Chicago plays host to more than 4,000 miles of public streets. Joabe Bayer Barbosa has almost run them all.
I know a lot of people who run or jog. They'll participate in 5Ks and even marathons. That takes a lot of dedication. A man in Illinois has taken his running to the next level. Starting in the summer of 2024, he set the goal to run on every block in Chicago. By the way, there are 4,000 miles of streets in the city. He'll get out there in every kind of weather and even in the neighborhoods that aren't very safe.

Now, Joabe Bayer Barbosa is getting close to reaching his goal. It will happen on June 14th at 10am. He has invited everyone to join him. It's been kind of like a Forest Gump thing. If you see a man running through the city in a Chicago flag cape, that's him.
