Some old-school Chicago Bears fans in Illinois believe there is a unique reason why the team hasn't won the Super Bowl since 1985, and it has nothing to do with the play on the field.

Are The Chicago Bears Cursed By Their Former Cheerleading Squad?

It had been a long time since the Chicago Bears made the playoffs. The fans were super excited. Unfortunately, it didn't end well for the team. They got knocked out by the Los Angeles Rams. The hopes of winning another Super Bowl are back in there's always next year mode. Some followers believe the pro football in Chicago is cursed.

It's been 40 years since the Chicago Bears won the Super Bowl and, perhaps coincidentally, also since their cheerleading squad, the Honey Bears, were seen shimmying on the sidelines.

The Honey Bears were the cheerleaders for the Chicago Bears from 1977 to 1986. It was the late, great George Halas' idea. When his daughter, Virginia McCaskey, took over the team after her father passed away. She decided that she didn't want "dancing girls" on the sidelines. So, after the Super Bowl XX season, the ladies were dropped from the team.

Many fans believe the reason the Chicago Bears haven't won a Super Bowl since is then is because of the "curse of the Honey Bears." Nowadays, former members of the cheerleading squad deny all of those rumors. It's funny to think about now, but that's quite the coincidence.
