March 5th I will be jumping into Olson Lake at Rock Cut State Park.

The Polar Plunge, presented by Law Enforcement Torch Run and is a fun and entertaining way to support Special Olympics athletes by jumping into the frigid waters of Olson Lake.

I'm honored that The Rockford Police Department has asked me to jump into frozen water along with them.

I am a proud member of "Rockford Coppers", do I get a badge or something?

Here at the 96.7 The Eagle we have developed a great relationship with Special Olympics Rockford, and I am very excited to participate.

But here's the bottom line, I'm jumping into frigid water. How in the world do you prepare for something like this? Here are a couple prep ideas:

  • A good warm meal (30 minutes prior of course)
  • Stretch Out
  • Don't Wear Speedo
  • Think Happy Warm Thoughts
  • Sing a Warm Song in Your Head (Summer Nights - Van Halen, first one that comes to mind)
  • Have Warm Beverage Waiting in the Wings
