Body Recovered From Rock River Yesterday Has Been Identified

Yesterday was definitely a tough one on the Rock River. Donald Woods age 52, was reported missing on Tuesday. Tuesday night search crews looked for Woods but all they found was an empty boat on the river. Thursday a police search crew and the coroner were called to the Rock River near the Atwood Forest Preserve. At around noon they found a body. It was Woods according to WIFR.com.

Winnebago County Sheriff, Gary Caruana, said the investigation is still on going and at this time its too early to determine Wood's cause of death. The rock River runs through our town and a lot of people enjoy it during the Summer months here. Its beautiful but it can be deadly.  Make sure to always wear your lifejacket when going on the river.
