Babe Ruth knocked another one out of the park this weekend when one his most iconic memorabilia pieces sold for over $1M.

Babe's bat used to hit his 500th home run was listed through SCP Auctions, with bidding starting at $150,000. The unnamed bidder won the lot at $1,000,800.

The Sultan of Swat hit his 500th on August 11th, 1929, against the Cleveland Indians at League Park, flying over the back wall of right field and rolling down Lexington Avenue. He was the first player in the MLB to reach such a milestone.

According to SCP Auctions, he autographed the bat and gave it to former Suffern, New York Mayor Jim Rice sometime in the 1940's. Nearly 75 years later it's leaving the family.

Ruth's first home run bat was sold in 2004 for $1.3M.
