I grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, surviving on a steady diet of Joe Walsh, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin and other REAL rock 'n roll artists. I moved to Colorado in the mid-80's and began my radio career there, working all over the state including Aspen and Vail. I moved to the Stateline in April 2001 and am lucky to call it home. My 2 boys go to school here and we have our favorite record shops, restaurants and hangouts spread out all over the Stateline!

Win Brian Regan Tickets All Week [VIDEO]
The Coronado Performing Arts Center really is the crown jewel of northern Illinois. How great is this venue in downtown Rockford, you ask? So great that when I took my four year old son to see Bear in the Big Blue House live on stage, it was like witnessing all of Shakespeare's works at once...
Aerosmith Live Coming to Rockford [VIDEO]
The cost of seeing a live concert nowadays is to the point where one really has to pick and choose what shows you can budget in every year. As with many Eagle listeners, the cost of a concert wasn't that much when I was younger. Cost rarely played into the decision, with tickets costing anywhere from $15-$25 range including parking, tops...
Grateful Dead Mail Order Tickets and Other Scraps [VIDEO]
The other day, I posted the instructions for mail-ordering tickets to the Grateful Dead shows this summer at Soldier Field. It's an exact science. You gotta put certain info on the envelope and enclose a properly filled out index card. Think of it like sending in a rebate form...
Brizz Record Bin- Grateful Dead “Going Down the Road Feelin’ Bad” [VIDEO]
We wind up a week's worth of Dead on the Brizz Record Bin with a song the band played live every year between 1970 and 1995, the year Jerry Garcia died. "Going Down the Road Feelin' Bad" is a cover song that many different artists have played, but the Dead made their own...
The Mountain Goat of Bicyclists [VIDEO]
Danny Macaskill is a lunatic. Not a crazed lunatic, but he certainly is fearless and has no regard for his own well being. You tell me what good that helmet is going to do when he tumbles off a precipice. Check out this heart racing video of Macaskill riding along the Cuillin Ridgeline in his native Scotland...
Brizz Record Bin- Grateful Dead “Bertha” [VIDEO]
It's day three of our five day Grateful Dead marathon on the Brizz Record Bin in honor of their 50th Anniversary shows at Soldier Field in July, dubbed 'Fare Thee Well.' The phrase comes from their ballad "Brokedown Palace." Today's Record Bin tune is one of my favorite show-openers, "Bertha...
Time to Mail Order Grateful Dead Tickets
The shows have been announced, hotels are being booked and dye-hard Deadheads are mailing off their ticket requests for their three shows at Soldier Field, July 3 - July 5. I did not do the the mail order thing this time, but I have many times in the past...

As we all know, Motley Crue is wrapping up their thirty-four year career together with a huge tour that winds up New Years Eve where it all began in Los Angeles. They will be at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee on August 7 and the Allstate Arena on August 8...
Brizz Record Bin- Grateful Dead “U.S. Blues” [VIDEO]
It's day 2 of a week's worth of Grateful Dead songs on the Brizz Record Bin. Back in the early days of MTV (remember kids, the 'M' stands for Music), this was the only Grateful Dead video you could see. It comes from the opening sequence of the excellent Grateful Dead Movie, released in 1976...
Mike Ditka Wouldn’t Let Son Play Football
'Iron' Mike Ditka. Da Coach. Mr. Football. I made that last one up, but still. Mike Ditka personifies the sport of football. There has been a lot of focus in recent years on the dangers of the sport. Long term side effects of hitting and being hit, multiple concussions and general wear and tear on bones, muscles and ligaments are becoming more apparent...
