What Is Happening At Alpine Valley Music Theater in Wisconsin This Summer

I'll never forget the very first time I walked into Alpine Valley Music Theatre. It was May 27th, 1988, for Monsters of Rock featuring Van Halen, The Scorpions, Dokken, Metallica, and Kingdom Come. That show was one of the greatest concert experiences of my life. It immediately became my favorite concert venue, and I've been there hundreds of times since.

Boasting a 37,000 person capacity, rolling lawns, a stunning wooden roof and a roster that has included some of the biggest names in the U.S., it’s no wonder the site found itself at number 6 on Rolling Stone’s list of “The Best Amphitheaters in America”.

Back in the day, Alpine Valley Music Theatre was the summer mecca for concerts, especially rock. Unfortunately, through the years, this iconic music venue has been used less and less. It really makes me sad. So far this year, they only have four shows scheduled. There are three country and one pop. For me, it's a very disappointing lineup.
