A Bar in Illinois was named one of the 25 Best Bars in America
Esquire has come out with their list of The Best Bars in America in 2022 and there is one bar that is in the Land of Lincoln that makes the cut, the drinks are pricey, but they sound incredible.
According to Esquire.com, there are 25 bars on their list of The Best Bars in America in 2022, and one of them is located in Chicago, Illinois, the bar is called Moneygun. Now I lived in Chicago for years before moving down here to Quincy, IL and I have never heard of Moneygun (probably because I'm more of a sports bar/Irish pub kinda guy), but Esquire says on their site...
"Moneygun feels unassuming at first, dark and no fuss on the fringes of the West Loop. But there’s always a youthful energy to the place... Part of it is the music: It’s always spot-on and DJs are frequent. Ultimately, it’s the drinks that keep you coming back. All familiar classics, yet all made with deft...It’s like the ideal local haunt, where everything is a little bit better, from the Sazerac to the patty melt."
Esquire's best bars come from all over the country but there are more located in NYC than anywhere else, sadly for us here in the Tri-States none are located in Missouri.
Moneygun has a website where you can check out their drinks (click here) the menu looks really good, it includes classics like Old Fashion. Cosmopolitan, and Martini's, but also have things like drinks called the Painkiller and the Scofflaw, all drinks start at $13 and go up from there, and they do have Beer, Wine, and some quick bites at the bar.
I don't know if I would love Moneygun but it definitely has me intrigued to stop in for at least one drink the next time I head up to the Windy City.
