A rally in Springfield, the state capital of Illinois, featured 8.000 gun owners.

Thousands of gun owners made the trip to Springfield for the annual "Illinois Gun Owner Lobby Day." They have been doing it since the 1990s. It has grown every year. The first one had only 200 and up to 8,000 currently.

The marchers believed this year was very important to show support.

According to newschannel20.com,

"Gun owners said they feel like their Second Amendment rights are under attack more than ever. Those who attended the event believe they're lobbying for their constitutional rights. Every day, you look on the news. Every day, gun owners are under attack. Legislators come up with some new scheme to try to take away our rights."

The rally kicks off the event followed by a meeting with representatives.
