2014 Oscars Drinking Game

The Oscars are among us, and with all award show traditions, it's time to get out your bottle of booze, beer or any beverage you have on hand and join me for this years "Oscars Drinking Game."

Ellen is on hand Sunday night as the host. I'm positive she will do a fantastic job. Since drinking is involved, I'll make the rules simple and easy to follow.

Drink one sip:

Anytime they mention the word "Gravity."

If you see a star with sunglasses on while inside. (So tacky!)

When you see a celebrity take a selfie.

The camera passes over Sandra Bullock or Meryl Streep.

Every time a movie you haven't seen is mentioned.

Drink two sips:

Anytime Ellen dances.

When an award winner cries.

Take a shot when:

Anyone mentions Nelson Mandela

Chug your drink:

When the award winner talks too long and the music cuts them off. (Continue drinking your drink until they are removed from the stage or camera cuts to someone else.)

Drink an entire beer:

During the entire tribute to those we've lost this year. It's the least you could do.

One of my other favorite ways to celebrate the Oscars is to print out a list of all of the nominees for each category (one for each guest attending your viewing party.) Before the awards, circle the actor/actress/movie/etc. that you want to win. Wager one to five sips for each winner. After the winner is announced is when the fun starts. If you guessed correctly, you can pass out your sips to others at the party. If you guessed wrong, you will have to drink the wagered sips yourself.
