10 Habits of Remarkably Polite People
Being polite seems like a burden to some, how about a few helpful hints.
So here's my thing. I hold the door for people, use please and thank you, and a smile goes a long way.
If I have never met you before and I am sitting, I will stand and shake your hand. Makes sense right? My biggest politeness pet peeve is when a man doesn't do the same.
I found myself in a situation a few weeks ago where I was excited to meet someone for the first time. I walked into a room and this fella was sitting at a desk. I introduced myself and extended a hand. He didn't stand, he looked at me and reached out his hand. Now maybe I'm being a little picky but having him stand up and shake my hand would have made a world of difference to me.
