Mark your calendar Rockford for November 14th, that is the next time you will be able to see the "Supermoon". According to WEATHER a “Supermoon” which is also called a new or full moon, happens when the moon is 90% closest to Earth. So basically it's a full moon that is much closer to Earth than average, thus a "Supermoon".

The Supermoon on November14th  will be historical because it will be the closest full moon to date in the 21st century. According to NASA a full moon won’t be this close to the earth until Nov. 25, 2034.

Obviously with the moon this close and visible you will be able to see it just about anywhere, but where would be some great look out points in our area? Spots that are wide open, that you can just sit back and chill.

So set aside some time on November 14th, a lawn chair maybe a few cold ones, and prepare to get Supermooned.
