Those flashing-light covered gates that lower in front of train crossings and drawbridges are there for a reason. A Wisconsin woman knows that. Now.

Wisconsin's Department of Transportation released an interesting bit of video on Monday. It was a recording of a woman on a bicycle who decided to ignore the warning gates of a drawbridge in Menasha:

As you can see, she can't really claim she didn't see the gates--she actually ran into the gate on the right before continuing down the path of stupidity.

From Fox News:

The unidentified 37-year-old woman suffered facial injuries in the July 4 fall off the Racine Street Bridge in Menasha, which is south of Green Bay. The incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. and the woman was eventually pulled out of the gap. The bridge operator was alerted to the incident and kept the bridge in place while the woman was being removed.

I know you'll find it hard to believe, but this sort of thing happens with surprising regularity:

Let's be careful out there.
