The Winnebago County Sheriff's Department received a grant to purchase a new speed trailer and they hope it will make traffic safer in the state line.

According to wrex.com

"If you are driving throughout the Rockford area, watch your speed. The Winnebago County Sheriff's Department has a new speed trailer which was bought after they received a grant from State Farm."

The new piece of equipment will be put to work immediately.

The police will place in areas where speeding is an issue.

Hopefully, it will catch drivers' attention and they will slow down.

Since the department can't afford to have an officer in one place all the time, it will also collect much-needed data to help them determine how serious the problem is on that street.

Will it actually help?

I think at first but after awhile people will ignore it.
