There were rumors of a Halloween snowfall, well scratch that.

Temps around 60 today and 57 for a low tonight? That will eliminate the whole snow thing.

So when will we see this "crazy winter" that we've been told about? Inches and inches of snow, and horribly cold temps. I have ordered 50lbs of salt for my driveway and my popcorn to watch it all happen.

I went to the main weather source for answers. No not Aaron Wilson, not any of our local T.V. heroes, the one and only true source for all things weather The Farmers Almanac.

According to the Weather Bible, our November shapes up like this:

  • Nov 1-4: Rain and snow showers and chilly
  • Nov 5-11: Showers east to the west sunny; mild
  • Nov 12-17: Lake snows, cold
  • Nov 18-24: Rain, then snow showers, cold
  • Nov 25-27: Sunny; cold east, mild west
  • Nov 28-30: Rainy, mild

So some snow mid-November? The Farmers Almanac furthers to say that the other snow periods will be:

  • Late December
  • Early and late January
  • Mid-February
  • Early March

A mild winter temperature wise with a bunch of snow, I can handle that.
