Over the weekend Pixar premiered its twentieth release, the long-awaited sequel Incredibles 2.  I still remember going to the theater with my family in 1995  to see their first film, Toy Story. The fourth full-length installment of that story is scheduled to come out June 21, 2019. Thanks to Jodi Benson that film franchise has a Rockford connection.

I guess that's why I'm surprised by the result of cabletv.com conclusion to which Pixar film is Illinois' favorite. It has nothing to do with the Toy Story franchise. Ours is sort of ironic seeing as though their research uncovered that Chicago is the most rat-infested city in the U.S.

If that didn't give it away, Illinois' favorite Pixar movie is Ratatouille. A cute 2007 film about Remy living out his dream of becoming a chef in Paris, even though he is a rat. My two-year-old loves this movie, so I've seen it a lot here lately.

The most popular Pixar movie was Finding Dory, which was the favorite in seventeen states. However, Utah REALLY loves their Pixar movies because they had a seven-way tie for first place. The tie was between A Bug's Life, Cars 3, Brave, Monsters Inc., The Incredibles, Up, and Inside Out.

Not a single Pixar movie was left off the list either and the sequels were just as popular as the first film in its series. Sometimes the sequel was more popular than the original, example Find Dory is eight times as popular as Finding Nemo.

Do you agree with their pick for Illinois or would you have gone with a different Pixar film?
