According to WREX, "Rochelle Township High School was in a soft lockdown Wednesday morning after a school administrator found a BB gun inside of a locker. The Rochelle Police Department says that two male juveniles were taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing."

With all the tragic school shootings across the country, I can't fault administrators and police officers for doing everything in their power to keep our kids safe.

When I was in high school I had a friend get expelled for having a paintball gun and a machete in his vehicle. First off, thank you for keeping my well being in mind, but you totally forgot about this kid's future. He will forever have that mark on his record, and some will definitely hold it against him moving forward.

Times have definitely changed and not for the best. My mom went to the same high school I did, and when she attended, most male students had hunting rifles in their vehicles. There has got to be a better way to uphold the rules and not ruin a kids life at the same time.
