Major Accident on I-39 This Afternoon

Traffic Alert: A major accident is affecting traffic heading southbound on Interstate 39.

The accident involves several vehicles including a semi truck. The accident occurred between Routes 38 and 64.

Interstate 39 is starting to back up for traffic heading southbound. Listeners are reporting traffic is beginning to bottleneck as motorists approach Route 64. Traffic on Route 64 is also beginning to back up both east and westbound.

Best advice if you are traveling south is to exit at Route 72 or Baxter Road, and take side roads south and get back on Interstate 39 at Route 38.

The crash was reported at around 3:15 pm in the southbound lanes at mile marker 103 in a construction zone.

There are reports traffic is being diverted around the crash scene by having vehicles exit on Route 64.
