There are already several shows being shot in Chicago, like some Shameless scenes and Dick Wolf's Chicago -set series, but it seems more are arriving this spring. Fox is slated to start shooting the Gone Baby Gone TV series adaptation in the city. This drama is based off of the Dennis Lehame neo-noir, then in 2007 was turned into a film directed by Ben Affleck. The pilot will center on the characters Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro, who are private detectives. Armed with the wits, street knowledge, and undeniable chemistry they try to right the wrongs the law can't in a working class borough, as reported by chicagotribune.com. It hasn't been made clear yet whether the shows setting will be changed to Chicago or if the if the city will double for Boston.

That's not uncommon for cities to double as another. For the show Empire, Chicago doubles for New York. Now one of that show's co-creators is bringing another pilot to town. Danny Strong is set to executive produce a unnamed legal drama that will center on the cases that come through a law firm that specializes in wrongful convictions.

Chicago theater veterans Erica Weiss and Caitlin Parrish have a pilot for CBS called Red Line, that will also be filmed in the city. This Chicago-set show will follow the aftermath of a white cop mistakenly shooting and killing a black doctor. It will also follow three different families who are affected by this event.

More shows may also be coming to Chicago to film, including a Showtime drama Your Honor, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
